Sterling stays hot at 8-1

The Rangers wrapped play in Pasadena with an easy win over the tournament hosts on Friday.

A six-run second inning did the damage for the Sterling team as Jacob Verdin closed the deal from the bump, striking out six and allowing two hits to earn the win.

Gentry Busch, Ryan Flores and Blake Russell all had two RBI apiece to lead the offense which mustered 11 hits.

“We played very well and Jacob carried a perfect game into the fifth inning,” RSS head coach Adam Shibley said.
